Program Description
This program provides students with a comprehensive introduction to the many entities that make up the hospitality industry, as well as an overview of today’s hot issues, including ethical challenges and management concerns. Numerous examples, exhibits, and statistics give students an up-to-date look at the dynamic hospitality field.
The course reflects new industry trends, management practices, and the effect of technology and social media on various aspects of hospitality. Topics include: boutique/lifestyle hotels, Airbnb, global distribution systems, event technology, emotional labor, and Internet advertising.
This program has been approved by the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills.

For students who attended an English-language high school, proof of one of the following:
- Minimum Grade 10 English, or

For students whose first language is not English, proof of English proficiency ability (one of the following):
- IELTS 6.0 overall, or
- Cambridge English Scale: score of 169 or higher, or
- Cambridge English: Advanced score of Grade C, or

- Canadian Language Benchmark Placement Test (CLBPT) minimum score of 7, or

As a Healthcare Office Assistant, graduates will be confident and prepared to join the administrative team in the growing healthcare industry. Graduates can find work in a variety of environments, such as:
Hospitals, Pharmacies, Dental Offices, Medical Offices, Medical Transcription, Physiotherapy Offices, Chiropractic Offices, Optometrist Offices, Naturopathic Offices, and other medical offices, in addition to non-medical offices and administrative teams.
820 hours (approx. 41 weeks) of synchronous, in-person or blended training, including 760 hours of theory training and a 60 hour practicum placement.
